The Golden Compass

Author: Philip Pullman (proud atheist)
Books: His Dark materials which include "The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass"
Theme of books: To kill God

So I saw the movie and the first thing that jumped out at me was the fact that the "souls" of people walked next to them in the form of animals. And these animals were referred to as demons; if you killed this demon then the person would die. The lead actress' demon could change from creature to creature.

1) Demons- These can be referenced to demon possession.
2) Demons as animals- After doing some research I came across this "Demons are able to assume any shape, but in Africa they often are said to take the shape of crocodiles or leopards or other fierce creatures.

Some popular witches' familiars are the forms of cat and dog, hare and pig, birds (especially black ones such as the raven), etc.

Demons also inhabit the forms of bull and ox, lion and wolf, bats and other nocturnal creatures, and so on.

Borrowing from the satyrs of classical times perhaps, the more recent mythology related the goat to The Devil and in that form he was supposed to preside at the Sabbat."

The golden compass was known as a Alethiometer, it was used to see if a person was telling the truth.

Here on Philip Pullman's site directions are given on how to use one. Sounds alot like a ouija board and crystal ball combined.

1) Ouija Board- (often pronounced "wee-gee" or called weegee box) is any flat surface printed with letters, numbers, and other symbols, to which a planchette or movable indicator points, supposedly in answer to questions from people at a séance. The fingers of the participants are placed on the planchette that then moves about the board to spell out messages. In popular culture these boards are considered to be a spiritual gateway used to contact the dead.

2) Crystal Ball- is a crystal or glass ball believed to aid clairvoyance. Celtic tribes, known to exist in Britain as early as 2,000 B.C., were unified by a priesthood known as Druids. Druids are one of the earliest known peoples to have used crystals in divination. It's interesting to note that Druid religion had similarities to megalithic religion of an "earlier" Britain, thus it is possible the first use of crystal divination might have come from them.

Later, during central Europe's Medieval Period (500 – 1500 AD), seers, wizards, sorcerers, psychics, gypsies, fortune tellers, and all other types of diviners also used crystals to "see" into the past, present, or future.

I need not tell you that children have the most impressionable minds and these movies are presented in a format that is acceptable and desirable to them. These kinds of movies are being used to desensitize children to the occult and is making devil worship and association with the devil acceptable / appealing.

Another such lure aimed at Kid's is Harry Potter, which makes wizardry (witchcraft) look ever so cool.

Do you know what rat poison is? Rat poison is 99.99% bait and 0.01% poison. It's that 0.01% that does the killing. The devil doesn't have to come in all of his "glory" to invade and entrap us and our kids. He will come as an angel of light (2 Cor 11:14). In other words, he'll come in a way thats easier on the eyes and much more palatable to accept.
Let me give you a visual. Which version of satan would you easily accept?

or him?

Obviously the cute one, but it makes no difference whom you accept because poison will always be poison whether its placed in a container saying "warning contents hazardous" or placed in a cute my little pony flask.

Pass the word on! The minds of today forms the world of tomorrow. We can't have a distorted perception forming the new world!
